HOUSTON, TX – Pornstar Karaoke and the Penthouse Pancakes & Porn breakfast have already transpired, but if you’re in the Houston area and you act fast, you can still catch the Purgatory Pajama Party.It’s all part of the fun at this week’s Lone Star Pornutopia, which kicked off Thursday in Houston and winds down Saturday night with the pajama party at the Holiday Inn on Airport Blvd.
“We figured this would be a great way to give a present back to the city, by bringing in 30 adult stars to entertain them and meet and greet the people,” said event organizer Steve Seidman, according to Houston-based ABC affiliate KTRK.
In addition to several days of fun and adult entertainment, Pornutopia is giving another present to the community; proceeds from Saturday night’s pajama party will be donated to breast cancer research.
Pornutopia’s show floor opened Thursday, and is open 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm today. After the show floor closes, the “Club Hop” begins. According to the event’s website, one group of adult stars featured at the show will head to The Ritz Cabaret (10520 Gulf freeway) where they will be from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm, while a second group of stars will make way to “hottyz” (9870 Westpark). Then, from 11:30 pm to close, the two groups of stars will swap locations.
The event is the first of its kind in Houston and has raised some local media eyebrows, accordingly.
According to KTRK, the event’s organizers expected there to be protests of Pornutopia outside the hotel, but so far that has not occurred. Seidman said he figures that might be because the adult entertainment industry actually enjoys a lot of support in the community, but people just aren’t willing to express that support publicly.
“A lot of people are afraid to admit that we watch it,” Seidman told KTRK. “But you know as well as anybody, in the privacy of my home, I can watch whatever I want, and most people do.”
“Some people are a little scared and some people are going to be curious,” observed Summer Haze, one of the adult stars featured at Pornutopia. “So I think we’ll have a lot of curious people that are going to come down and see what’s going on.”
Other adult stars appearing at Pornutopia include Jessica Drake, Lisa Sparxxx, Dave Cummings, Tyla Wynn, Dee, Ron Jeremy, Audrey Hollander, Sean Michaels, and Stephanie Swift.
Tickets for the expo show floor are $15 at the door. The Purgatory Pajama Party admission is $40 at the door, $25 with a room key from the host Holiday Inn.
