SCOTTSDALE, AZ – The Lightspeed Cash affiliate program, which ended its open enrollment policy for new affiliates as of July 1st of this year, has announced that 20 affiliate positions are now available for new webmaster applicants.Due to the high number of responses anticipated, Lightspeed requests that all applicants include a recommendation from another established affiliate program, and/or a recommendation from a current Lightspeed affiliate in good standing.

“Our affiliates have often asked us not to let everyone in,” said Lightspeed Cash owner Steve Lightspeed. “It creates too much competition for traffic and gallery placement; they don’t want to compete with people who don’t know how the game really works. It is our hope that our existing affiliates will use these invites to strengthen their own partner and associate relationships.”

In explaining the invite-only policy, Lightspeed cited concerns over potential vicarious liability for the actions of the program’s affiliates, noting that, “We police our affiliates pretty aggressively – we verify all their info, and we parse their pages regularly, and on every sale, to make sure they are not using ‘forbidden’ words, like lolita, pre-teen, etc.”

“We don’t want everyone as a Lightspeed Cash affiliate,” Lightspeed added. “Just like affiliates want an honest and ethical sponsor, we want honest and ethical affiliates who are serious about making sales.”

In addition to their policies regarding the manner and variety of promotional techniques they will allow affiliates to employ in promoting Lightspeed sites, Lightspeed Cash also strictly limits the use of their promotional content by affiliates, due in large part to the revised 2257 record keeping requirements, in particular the new provisions which require “secondary producers” to keep copies of identification documents.

“We only allow non-sexually explicit content to be used by affiliates,” Lightspeed said, “since I refuse to give model IDs out to anyone.”
