Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support announced today that digital ad network JuicyAds has signed on as a support-level sponsor, joining over 50 other adult businesses and organizations in committing funds and resources to the organization.
“JuicyAds is excited to join Pineapple Support as a sponsor, especially during Suicide Prevention Month,” said Rainey Stricklin, Digital Strategist at JuicyAds.com. “Their work provides invaluable mental health and wellness resources to the individuals in our industry and we’re happy we can help further that cause.”
Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, which is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit in the United States and a registered charity in the UK, says it has so far connected over 1500 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.
“At a time when demand for mental health services is higher than ever, we’re so glad to have JuicyAds come aboard as a sponsor,” Tanit said. “Support from generous sponsors like JuicyAds allows us to reach even more performers in need of mental health services and emotional support.”
According to the announcement, requests for therapy with Pineapple Support “have nearly tripled in the last year, and have risen 65% in the past six months” – increases which are not surprising given the additional challenges and mental health burdens imposed upon us all by the COVID-19 pandemic and related ‘shutdowns’.
