Multi-award-winning, prolific director Jim Powers grew up reading comic books in the 70s, and one of his favorites was Vampirella, a vampire superheroine from the planet Drakulon who possessed telepathic and superhuman agility powers. He’s reinvented her as Transpirella in a campy sci-fi horror adventure-filled feature starring award-winning adult performer Ariel Demure and an all-star cast for Gender X Films. Two of the five scenes are available exclusively on the Gender X website, and the feature will be released on DVD and VOD later this month in time for awards season.
The storyline of “Transpirella” is that she comes from the planet Tranculon in a distant galaxy that’s faced severe droughts, and Transpirella’s one of the few survivors. She has discovered humans as a food source after astronauts crashed on her planet in the 1960s, but also sees them as friends and lovers. But fellow Tranculonian, Dracula (Dom Cruise) has sinister plans to dominate humanity by turning them into a vampire army under Satan’s guidance and plans to dominate Earth and beyond. Transpirella teams up with renowned vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing (Joel Someone) and his trans offspring Eve (Gracie Jane), and sidekick Femdragon (Kasey Kei) to stop his scheme. Armed with a unique weapon, a dildo crafted from Tranculon elements designed to combust Dracula’s body, she must get close enough to him to use it. Navigating Dracula’s lair, she faces vampires and cultists. Transpirella confronts Dracula in a battle of wits, seduction, and brute strength. Once he and his trans demons emerge, it’s a climactic showdown with lots of action and, of course, steamy encounters. Transpirella uses her charm and strength to outmaneuver her foes and uses her weapon to banish Satan to hell. With her team, Traspirella saves Earth but knows evil could return.
“Transpirella” also stars Jade Venus, Gal Ritchie, Haven Rose, Avery Lust, and Andylynn Payne. Jim wrote, directed, and produced the feature.
“When Gender X said I could do a feature this year, I knew this was it. I’d been kicking this around for a while. It was one of my favorite comics and still is. Ariel was perfect in the role of a sexy kick-ass superhero. Once I cast her, all the other characters just fell into place. Filming this was a dream come true, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” says Jim Powers.
