Adult star Jenna Jameson made a surprise appearance on YNOT Radio on Wednesday to talk about the ongoing industry HIV scare. Talking with YNOTBob and LAJ during the popular YNOTBob Humpday Lunch Show, Jenna argued for an increase in condom use in adult entertainment productions, asserted her willingness to speak with the government on behalf of the industry, and discussed her Adult Industry Assistance Fund (AIAF).

“When something like [the HIV scare] comes up in the industry, the only thing we can really do besides the regulations is do something positive,” said Jameson, explaining why she started the AIAF with her husband, which helps financially strapped adult industry performers during the work stoppage. “I thought this is, you know, the least I could do.”

Jameson said that the AIAF has so far been well received.

“It’s going incredibly,” said Jameson. “People are coming out of the woodworks.”

Asked if she would be willing to speak with the government on behalf of the industry, Jameson had a quick and enthusiastic answer:

“I would be there is a second. Absolutely,” said Jameson. “I love doing that kind of thing, because people automatically think, okay she’s blonde, she’s a porn star, she spreads her legs for a living, she’s got to have an IQ of 23.”

Jameson believes that the adult industry needs to meet the HIV issue head-on.

“It’s a wake-up call. Everybody needs to step up, don’t hide, and let’s just talk about this and inform people about it.”

Commenting on the HIV scare and the general risk of STDs, host YNOTBob wondered if the industry could have done anything different to stop the recent HIV infections. Jameson replied that industry performers should refrain from having unprotected sex in foreign lands.

“I kind of have an issue with our American actors going down to Brazil and working in a country that HIV is running rampant, so I have a problem with that and I think that maybe we should enact some kind of quarantine on people that are going down into these countries and not using condoms … they don’t mandate any kind of testing down there, so that’s putting all of us at risk.”

YNOTBob questioned whether mandated condom use in Los Angeles porn productions would truly have a global effect on condom use in adult films, as Jameson’s husband had suggested earlier on the show. Jameson disagreed with her husband’s assessment on the potential impact of mandatory condom laws.

“There’s always going to be rogue companies that are gonna be like, ‘Oh yeah, buy our movies because we don’t use condoms.’ It’s going to happen no matter what … it’s really, really hard to regulate … I really think that it should be left in the performer’s hands … this is our lives, we’re putting ourselves at risk, and I think as performers we should insist upon condom use.”

YNOTBob asked Jameson what other steps adult industry performers could take to reduce their health risks.

“You should always do a visual check, because condoms aren’t going to protect you from herpes … I always like to do a finger check. Sorry, it’s a little bit freaky, but when you’re with a girl you want to make sure she’s perfectly clean.”

Jameson also advised performers against sharing sex toys with multiple partners.

When asked about the possibility of condom use during blowjob scenes, Jameson admitted that there were no easy answers.

“That’s the weirdest part about the whole thing … you can’t do a blowjob with a condom,” Jameson admitted. “There’s nothing sexy about that, they taste bad and, you know, with the little tip on the end… It’s really, really hard to regulate something like that. I don’t have any answers for it.”

Ending the session on a humorous note, YNOTBob asked Jameson about previous rumors of a possible Britney Spears fling. Jameson laughed then joked, “The Britney Spears thing may come, she’s getting dirtier and dirtier as we speak.”

LAJ suggested that a better show might be had later this year when the Olsen Twins turn eighteen.

“That’s what I’m talking about,” replied Jameson.
