MILAN, ITALY — At the tender age of 22, Italian porn actress Laura Perego is not yet widely known for her political activism. Nonetheless, the desperate state of world affairs has plunged the sexy star not merely into a low neckline but into bare naked flag waving of a highly visible – and legally actionable – kind. So outraged by the mismanagement of her country’s stock exchange was the perky performer that she decided to do something bold about it. Alas, her non-violent protest has led to her arrest on charges of obscenity.
At issue is the fact that Perego walked into Milan’s stock market on Tuesday wearing nothing but a darling black coat, and that only temporarily.
Once indoors, Perego removed her coat to reveal a pair of tiny panties – and the rest of her body, which was painted in the colors of the Italian flag.
According to Italy’s ANSA news agency, Perego shouted “I want to sent a message to all those who mismanaged our savings!” while several traders attempted to coax her back into her coat.
After having been removed from the building for beautifully highlighting her anger at financiers “stripping Italians of everything but their underwear,” she was held for an hour at a police station on charges of having engaged in obscene acts.
Although arrested, Perego insists that many of the officers involved were supportive of her protest, insisting that “several officers complimented me and told me I was fighting for a just cause.”
The body painted protest is not her first attempt to make a political point with her body and will not likely be her last. In addition to a similar protest at the Sanremo Song Fest, Perego promises other “always improvised and unexpected” examples of sexy civil disobedience.
