For the most part, nothing revealed during last night’s Stormy Daniels’ “60 Minutes” interview with Anderson Cooper was especially shocking.
As CNN summed up, Daniels was never paid by media for her Trump affair story, she provided more details about the alleged threat against her, and it was a mainstream gossip rag — presumably always searching for clickbait — that sparked renewed interest in the story.
The intensity of these reveals have added fuel to the United States’ already stormy political fire though — and have also contributed to the performer-director’s draw and social power overall.
According to xHamster, “Stormy Daniels” continues to be the most searched-for porn term during 2018. Searches for Daniels have increased nearly 3000 times the volume they were last year at this time, topping every other search term on the site.
In the U.S., searches for Daniels are highest in Washington, D.C. and lowest in Alaska. According to xHamster, “Viewers in blue states are much more likely to get an erotic-charge from Stormy, while red state viewers are more likely to find she kills the mood.”
Further, increased interest in Daniels isn’t just occurring in the U.S. International queries are up nearly 12,000 percent.

“Stormy Daniels has become an international icon,” Alex Hawkins, Vice President of xHamster, wrote.
“She’s now the most searched for porn star in the world, no matter what your gender or where your politics lie,” Hawkins added. “She’s a force of nature who is changing the way that the world sees porn stars.”
Though haters are inevitable, people around the industry and in wider society reacted to Daniels’ appearance on “60 Minutes” with marked positivity.
Hayley MacMillen highlighted slut shaming embedded in “surprised” reactions that Daniels gave a good interview:

Jiz Lee highlighted the lack of slut shaming present in the actual interview itself though:
Appreciating the respect @andersoncooper gives @StormyDaniels in the interview, and that he and @60Minutes producers discuss sex worker stigma without taking part in it themselves. #stormydanielsday #teamstormy
