Chris is the Sales Manager of Pornication, a company whose goal is to design quality content and programs, both of which have a sole purpose of making money for Pornication’s webmasters.
According to Chris, Pornication is the originator of the Free Live Feeds, as well as the first Free Lease Galleries (Pornication Girls Gallery) and the soon-to-be released, Pornication Guys Gallery.
As the Sales Manager at Pornication, Chris manages the account reps, sets up and manages webmaster accounts, helps in the development of new webmaster programs, writes and updates sales ads, generates leads for account reps, sets and tracks daily, weekly, and monthly sales department goals and progress reports, and manages the day-to-day responsibilities of the sales department.
Let’s find out how Chris got into the industry …
YNOT: How did you get involved initially in the world of adult online?
Chris: I have always loved the excitement of sales and marketing in the entertainment industry and since the adult internet industry is the #1 industry on the web it was always a goal to get involved.
YNOT: What type of work were you doing, if any, before you started in the biz?
Chris: I worked as the Assistant Marketing Director at a radio station, and from there I went on to run a national marketing campaign for South East Michigan for the Jim Beam Brands Co. After that, I worked for an independent marketing company as the Campaign Manager for CBS switchboard.com
YNOT: Where did you begin gathering info about the business and when did you get your start?
Chris: I was lucky enough to come into the business with an outstanding company that really taught me every thing I need to know about the business and how it works and places I needed to go to learn more. I started in the online adult business in December of 2000 with Pornication, who I am currently with and plan to be with for a very long time.
YNOT: Give us your thoughts on how easy or difficult it was for you to get started.
Chris: With every new venture in life, there will always be difficulties, but in this business everybody is so eager and willing to help out each other that the transition wasn’t hard at all.
YNOT: What changes would you like to see made in the adult Internet industry?
Chris: I would love to see the adult internet industry take rank of itself and start punishing those who are giving the industry a bad name. I think that if we as an industry put tougher restrictions on ourselves and those who we do business with it will give the governments around the world no power to come in and try to take what so many have worked so hard to build. I also think that we should pull together to fight other companies that make it difficult to operate, such as Visa/MC and their chargeback policies. I think if they changed their policies to make the customer responsible for proving they did not make the charge you would see less chargebacks.
YNOT: What do you love about the adult internet industry?
Chris: The fact that this business is so huge yet so small, at the same time. This is a global industry yet everybody in the industry networks with each other; there is no other industry in the world that is this close knit.
YNOT: What do you dislike?
Chris: The people who come into this business and think that it is a get rich quick scheme and do not care about their reputation nor those with whom they do business.
YNOT: What are your thoughts on the future of the adult Internet industry?
Chris: I think that because this industry is so young that there are many changes that are going to take place over the next 10 to 20 years and you can either be afraid of those changes or be excited to be a part of what I am sure is going to be a bumpy yet fun and profitable ride.
YNOT: Where do you see yourself in one year? Five years?
Chris: The answer to both questions is the same: I plan on being where I am at now, constantly helping Pornication to become one of the biggest and best companies in the adult internet industry.
YNOT: If you had one bit advice you could offer new Webmasters, what would it be?
Chris: Don’t ever compromise your ethics or your reputation to try to get ahead faster that the other guy or girl.
