YNOT – Few directors have made Cecil Howard’s impact on the adult movie business, and few adult movies made the public impact of Howard’s epic four-hour saga Last X-Rated Movie. Now, for the first time, the landmark film will be available on the internet in its entirety, exclusively at HotMovies.com.

As was typical of Howard’s work, Last X-Rated Movie garnered accolades when originally released in four parts during the 1980s. The first two parts each earned AVN’s highest rating, and the magazine named the saga “the best multi-part adult series ever shot on video.”

During the Golden Age of Porn, before compilations became the order of the day, Last X-Rated Movie was the longest adult title ever released. Howard condensed, re-edited and repackaged the flick in 1991, releasing the definitive four-hour director’s cut on VHS exclusively for the Penthouse Book and Video Society. The re-release again earned AVN’s highest rating and prompted another critic to name it “the best X-rated movie of all time.”

The re-release was Howard’s final adult venture before departing the industry for mainstream Hollywood.

The original production earned Eric Edwards an AVN Award for Best Actor; Nina Hartley took the Best Supporting Actress trophy. Hall of Famers Ron Jeremy, Tom Byron, Tasha Voux and Sharon Mitchell also appear in the film.

In the past, Howard’s HotMovies releases have hit the site as one-month-only premiers. Not this time. Howard said he wants fans to have the opportunity to view what he considers his masterpiece, cut as he originally intended, in perpetuity.

“This is a grand opus, and I encourage people to take the time to watch the whole thing,” said the elusive filmmaker. “The story is the thing that sets it apart from other porn movies, and the sex is some of the hottest I ever shot.”

HotMovies Director of Business Development James Cybert said Howard’s movies are viewer favorites. The online video-on-demand purveyor also has offered five other multiple award winners from the acclaimed director: Neon Nights, Babylon Pink, Foxtrot, Star Angel and Platinum Paradise.
