CANOGA PARK, CA – The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has announced a joint one-day fundraising event pairing the free speech advocacy group with adult video-on-demand retailer HotMovies.com. “FreedomStreams ’06,” scheduled for April 18th, is designed to raise funds for the FSC’s 2257 Legal Defense Fund.Participating studios featured on HotMovies.com will have the opportunity to donate their HotMovies profits generated on April 18th to the FSC defense fund. In addition, HotMovies will match the money donated by participating studios “dollar for dollar,” according to the FSC release.

Several major studios, including Elegant Angel, Pleasure Productions, Platinum X, Matrix Content, and Red Light District have already pledged participation in FreedomStreams ’06. HotMovies and the FSC are actively seeking the participation of additional studios, as well.

“We’re all in this together,” the FSC stated in its press release. “Winning a preliminary injunction in Denver was important, but it was just the first step in a long battle to thwart the government’s attempt to regulate many of us out of business or into jail. This is a fight we must all see through to the end.”
