CHATSWORTH, Calif. – The pre-nominations period for the fourth-annual GFY Awards will open Oct. 15. Nominee suggestions will be accepted in 22 categories through Nov. 19.

The 2014 ceremony will take place Jan. 13 in Las Vegas as part of The AVN Show, a week-long series of business-to-business and consumer-focused events set to occur Jan. 11-18 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The GFY Awards, which debuted in 2011 during the Webmaster Access Amsterdam adult webmaster event, tap into the opinionated and vocal community that haunts webmaster forum GFY.com. Discussions at the virtual watering hole — owned and operated by AVN Media Network — frequently resemble digital prison riots, but the atmosphere is never dull.

Previously, the awards ceremony took place in the fall.

“The GFY Awards give companies and individuals an amazing opportunity to be nominated and recognized by the community as a whole,” said GFY “Head Zookeeper” Eric Matis. “AVN and GFY felt that having an award ceremony that wasn’t at the start of the new year didn’t fully represent what a yearly award should offer the community.”

Admission to the GFY Awards is open to all who attend Internext, AVN’s conference for the digital adult entertainment industry. The ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. Jan. 13 at Vinyl inside the Hard Rock.
