YNOT – Adult video-on-demand purveyor GameLink has completed a series of platform upgrades and now offers pay-per-minute movie streaming for Apple i-gadget users.
With the introduction of mobile pay-per-minute capability, the VOD platform represents one of the largest mobile adult movie catalogs online. More than 25,000 full-length movies and more than 235,000 scenes are available by the minute for iPhones and iPads. Partial support for Android devices also is available; full support is expected to launch later this year.
A GameLink spokesperson said the mobile upgrades complement recent advancements in the company’s video delivery network, “providing customers with dramatic improvements in streaming quality and an overall richer video experience.”
GameLink executive Andrew Sullivan indicated the company harbors plans for additional improvements and additions to its mobile products. He cited recent Nielsen studies indicating 33.5 million mobile phone users now watch video on their phones, which represents an increase of 35.7 percent over last year’s levels. A separate report predicted mobile video consumption will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 28 percent over the next five years, Sullivan said.
“We continue to see rapid growth in traffic using smartphones and tablets, and we have moved quickly to provide a compelling experience for this customer base,” he remarked. “Moreover, customers are expecting to have a seamless user experience across all devices. They may buy on their PC at work and then watch on their phone, tablet, laptop or TV. GameLink has worked hard to position itself as the preferred destination for customers who expect to access content from anywhere on any device.”
