Free Speech Coalition Retains Raben Group to Lobby in DC

WASHINGTON, DC – The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) announced today that it has engaged The Raben Group, a Washington, DC-based lobbying firm, to represent the political interests of FSC members, and the adult entertainment industry at large, inside the beltway.“We are thrilled to retain The Raben Group to help communicate our message in support of responsible adult expression,” said FSC Executive Director Michelle L. Freridge. “We especially look forward to working with them to develop bipartisan relationships with congressional legislators and staff, and to enhance our alliance with the many like-minded free speech groups that share our goals and concerns. The Raben Group will without a doubt be an invaluable contributor as we continue to expand our membership base and influence throughout the country.”

The Raben Group is a led by Robert Raben, whose career in Washington includes experience as Counsel to Congressman Barney Frank, Democratic Counsel for the Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Courts and Intellectual Property. Raben Group clients include Sony Music Entertainment, the ACLU, the National Black Justice Coalition, Take Two Interactive Software and The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

“The Raben Group brings a strong background in the policy areas of concern to us, notably civil rights, as well as top-level connections within the government,” said Kat Sunlove, Legislative Affairs Director for the FSC. “They have hit the ground running, and seem genuinely excited about representing our interests in Congress and before regulatory agencies in Washington, DC.”

The Raben Group replaces the FSC’s previous D.C.-based lobbyist, Aubrey King.
