VAN NUYS, Calif. – A group of prominent adult entertainment companies has come together to test whether giving away unlimited porn for a day will convince surfers they’ll get better content by paying than by stealing.

Evil Angel and Gamma Entertainment lead the list of top-shelf producers involved in the grand experiment, called Free Porn Day. Scheduled to take place Sept. 8, the 24-hour event will unlock membership areas and video-on-demand scenes normally available only to paying customers.

In addition to Evil Angel’s site and a selection of properties in the Gamma network (including Girlsway and HardX), participants include Blacked.com, Tushy.com, Hustler, Vivid, Met-Art, GameLink, Videobox, Adult Empire, Nubiles and Kink. Surfers need only visit FreePornDay.com, browse the participating sites by genre and click through to experience entire libraries at no charge.

Participating sites plan to offer rock-bottom upsell prices to convert visitors into members.
