VENICE, CA – Fleshbot must have known that when they asked Brandi Love to give them 5 songs that she loves to get off to that they would get more than a list, they would get a feature story. And Brandi did not disappoint.
Her version of the site’s Fleshtunes is one of the most extensive ever and it reflects the beauty’s adventurous spirit and diverse tastes. Really, where else where you hear someone waxing poetic about Kid Rock, Simon & Garfunkel, the Marshall Tucker Band, Guns ‘n Roses and LynyrdSkynyrd?
She took the opportunity to go Lester Bangs on us and the article is a blast. Here are some small samples:
Kid Rock: “It doesn’t get any more local, or quintessential “Up North” than this song! Every time it’s on the radio we crank it way up!”
Simon & Garfunkel: “For me, the earliest memories of “Mrs. Robinson” trigger the smell of hamburgers on the grill, drinking beers, tying up the boats at Put-in-Bay on Lake Erie and having a blast!”
Marshall Tucker Band: “What can I say… I may have been born in Michigan… I may still summer in Michigan and my favorite college teams are all in the B1G but my heart and soul walk through the Southland. I have been in North Carolina as long as I lived in Michigan.”
Guns ‘n Roses: “GnR will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart! My husband of 23 years and I went to see them along with Metallica at the Pontiac Silverdome back in college.”
LynyrdSkynyrd: “I mean come on. ‘Freebird.’ That song was made for me! It moves me on multiple levels.”
Riffing on the “Freebird” lyrics, Brandi says, “For me I think the question I ask to the fans and to the industry is… If I leave here (adult entertainment) tomorrow would you still remember me? Some may not want to be remembered for their career in adult entertainment … I do.”
And she will be. Most fondly indeed.
