FETFAN, a trusted member of the alternative adult community since its founding in 2012, has announced the release of the $FETTY Coin, a new crypto token that aims to become “the transactional cryptocurrency of the future,” according to the coin’s founders.
Created by 2019 YNOT Award winners for Best Cam Couple @akgingersnaps, the $FETTY mascot, “Fetty White,” was inspired by beloved actress Betty White. The new token will become the primacy currency for the FETFAN platform as of this Saturday, January 1 – but the coin’s founders have a vision for the token that goes well beyond use on their own site.
“I didn’t want to make a coin that was only a porn token or good on porn sites,” TheDabbingDaddy, the male half of @akgingersnaps, told YNOT. “In order to do that, it needs use. So, while doing everything and building our brand we also purchased the Willow Trading Post in Alaska which we will be accepting $FETTY through our various points of sale. We have the bar/grill, lodging and soon a commercial cannabis operation which all will accept $FETTY.”
TheDabbingDaddy noted that one of the “biggest problems cannabis entrepreneurs and streamers face is being able to collect and spend their money.”
“I built $FETTY in a way that I can process funds from many different ecosystems and deposit cash into their bank accounts perfectly legally,” he said.
TheDabbingDaddy told YNOT that the inspiration to create $FETTY has its roots in the early days of the FETFAN project, stemming from his observations about the challenges people in the adult entertainment space faced when trying to accept the alternative forms of payment available at the time.
“I founded FETFAN.com in college like nine years ago,” he said. “I was actually before OnlyFans, but I was in college and couldn’t afford to get a special gateway built so I had to work with PayPal. I got a special exception to the policy for PayPal to have 18+ content and so on and still use PayPal. The problem we faced was PayPal itself wasn’t available everywhere and to everyone and it also closed accounts of folks and sent money back too easily.”
TheDabbingDaddy knew he needed to expand his brand’s profile and reach. The question was, how?
“I needed a vehicle to push FETFAN, so I began trying to find influencers and so on but they were either out of my budget or not actually trying to put their heart into it,” TheDabbingDaddy continued. “I decided that I would become the influencer and build my own vehicle. So, I’ve spent the last 4 years doing that. I now have over 420,000 followers on Chaturbate, I’ve been nominated for the highest awards in the industry and I shot a docuseries with the award-winning producer Bree Mills.”
Now, having built on his organic reach and the FETFAN brand, the next step is launching and spreading the word about $FETTY.
In addition to the new $FETTY token, @akgingersnaps are also gearing up to launch FettyCoins.com, which TheDabbingDaddy said “will have all of the social media powers that FETFAN has,” including “live, Zoom-style group calling, voice and video calling and so on.”
“A huge problem for streamers is content being stolen so I built FETFAN to be a centralized hub for all social media sites where you can easily connect and verify all your social media sites and publish from ours,” TheDabbingDaddy explained.
