The family of beloved adult industry photographer Julius “JFK” Kedvessy, who passed away in September of last year, will attend the upcoming YNOT Awards in Prague, as the annual awards show this year will also dedicate time to honoring and celebrating JFK’s life and lasting contributions to the adult industry.
JFK’s daughter, Diana, said that attending the YNOT Awards will be “a bittersweet moment” for the family, who have never before attended an adult event together as a group.
“Other than Mom (“Mrs. FUBAR”), it’s our first adult awards ceremony and trade show experience,” Diana adding that the family is looking forward to “put faces to the names” she and the rest of the family heard about from JFK in countless stories.
“JFK captured so many great moments and visually documented so many shows over the years, it just seems fitting for us to take the time to say a collective ‘thank you’ at an industry event and celebrate his life even as we mourn his passing,” said YNOT co-owner and YNOT Awards producer Jay Kopita. “To have members of his family present will make it extra special – and give us all a chance to let them know how much we all loved Julius and just how much he is missed.”
Taking place next Tuesday night at the National House of Vinohrady in Prague and presented in conjunction with the TES Affiliate Conference, this year marks the 12th edition of the YNOT Awards, which recognize outstanding adult industry companies, executives and brands in webcams, b2b services and other industry verticals. (The event is not to be confused with the YNOT Cam Awards, which will be held in Hollywood, California, on October 13, directly following YNOT Cammunity.)
Kopita said free seating for the YNOT Awards is still available and encouraged TES attendees to “come join us for what is sure to be a very special evening.”
“If you were friends with JFK – and honestly, to meet the guy was to become his friend – I can’t encourage you strongly enough to join us in celebrating his life,” Kopita said. “JFK gave so much to this industry and now we’re going to show our appreciation at the very sort of event at which we all cherished running into him, trading jokes – and of course, posing for one of those great snapshots he was constantly capturing.”
