YNOT – Porn star popularity tracker Fame Registry on Aug. 30 announced the winners of what the website plans to make an annual tradition. The first Fame Registry Awards honored the women and men who came out on top in 12 categories, based upon statistics gathered by the registry over the past year.The categories and winners were:

Winners will receive a custom, specially engraved trophy, a spokesperson said.

Fame Registry describes itself as “a ‘who’s who’ of porn stars.” The registry tracks a list of performers and employs a variety of data to rank them in order of popularity. Data types include search engine popularity, website traffic and domain name value. Each performer is rated using a compilation of data compiled from Alexa, Google, Overture and Wordtracker, plus Estibot domain name values, Penthouse Pet status and the number of awards won from AVN, XRCO and FAME.

“To oversimplify a very confusing and complicated system, we basically rank each porn star in the database based on how well they perform in a few public sources,” a registry spokesperson said. “For example we rank all the porn stars for the traffic to their website, we then rank them based on how often their name appears in Google, how many times a day someone searches for their name, then give a set number of points for those rankings and then add them all up to determine who is the hottest porn star.

“Because the internet is ever-evolving and data changes often, we also include in each report the last time the ranking was performed and update data from each source periodically.”
