EuroWebtainment Proves “Biz & Fun in the Sun” Not Mutually Exclusive
MAJORCA, SPAIN — It is fitting that the biggest and most important networking event for interactive adult entertainment professionals within Europe took place on Majorca, the largest island of Spain. Where better to connect with other professionals who glory in the pleasures of the flesh? This year’s May 6th – 9th EuroWebtainment convention proved once again, the business and fun are not mutually exclusive, which is a good thing, given that “Biz & Fun in the Sun” was the promise of the 15th annual event.
Catering to the Web, mobile communications and SAT/Web-TV sectors of the adult entertainment industry, EuroWebtainment 2009 saw more attendees than ever before, with more than 600 company representatives in evidence at the Paseo Maritimo in Palma at the harbour of Palma de Majorca.
Viewed as one of the most important European events for members of the adult interactive market, the laid back atmosphere of the Hotel Melia Atenea set attendees at ease, making it even easier to make new contacts and maintain pre-existing ones.
In addition to B2B lectures, seminars and workshops, this year’s EuroWebtainment also offered a very international speed networking experience for those involved.
No adult industry convention is complete without parties and other social opportunities, however, and EuroWebtainment is no different. As well as the usual cocktail conversation offerings, this year’s event included the chance to take a Catamaran or bus to the autonomous community of Valldemossa, famous for the Royal Charterhouse of Jesus of Nazareth built in the 14th century and visited by such greats as Polish composer Frédéric Chopin and French writer/feminist George Sand.
More official social activities included a gala soiree at Club Abraxas complete with free drinks, buffet and a chance to meet the Miss EuroWebtainment contestants. The famous Titos played host to a VIP party with free drinks, live entertainment, DJ driven tunes and the selection of this year’s Miss EuroWebtainment. An after-show webmaster party with free beer and snacks gave die-hards one last change to feel the professional love before returning home.
So successful was this year’s EuroWebtainment that the sweet 16 offering will be held in Vienna from November 2009 from 4th – 7th.
