One thing that really strikes me about Jay, the man behind pro-am site Dire Desires, is he’s a man who hustle, hustle, hustles to get his name and brand out there. A wearer of many hats Jay’s not only the owner and producer of all the content for the shingle, he’s also the performer, editor and one helluva promoter as well.
Whether it’s sending out PRs, posting on social media, getting his models to gush about the great time they had on set, interviewing models on his YouTube channel, shouting out his new clothing shingle Desires Brand (which of course has his logo all over it – way to advertise!), sending out a newsletter (constantly keeping those fans engaged), or hooking up votes for his recent nomination for the Fleshbot Awards, Jay really understands that having a successful adult business is more than just creating great content… which he has plenty of… you have to garner buzz.

What brought you to the industry and how did you get your start?
It all started for after a bad break up in 2013; I was actually semi-homeless sleeping on my friend’s couch. I happened to meet a female that was doing amateur adult videos, she introduced me to a producer and I kinda took it from there.
How do you choose your models and how do you make them comfortable and happy on set?
I choose my models by who I could see myself having sex with if that makes sense. Sex appeal is big for me. Now you gonna have my secrets on why females are always comfortable with me on set, lol. We usually set up the shoot about a month before and during that time, with consent of course I relay to the model that we should do some light flirting and let it build up until the big day.
That way when we get in front of each other, we already got that sex attention from weeks of talking so that we can’t wait to fuck each other… and the camera is just going to happen to be there. I feel like that method makes every model I shoot with comfortable.

How do you consistently create great content?
I try to get better every video I shoot. I watch porn a lot, for educational purposes of course. LOL. But I was a fan of the industry way before I started and that’s not gonna stop whether I’m in it not.
To answer your question, I shoot great content because I base my concepts on real life situations.
Here’s the perfect example, some of my fans don’t like that the models in my scenes don’t get fully naked in every video. A big reason for that is because in real life situations, a woman doesn’t always get naked. If you are sleeping next to your wife, you may roll over pull her panties to the side and get to it. Or she may not have any panties on, but she has a t-shirt on, and you just get to it.
How do you separate yourself from the competition?
I honestly just try to keep my scenes real, I’m only in competition with myself. Like I said before I’m just trying to get better in every scene. Everyone in this industry I look at them as motivation not competition.
What do you think is the most important skill to keep afloat in the adult world?
I think the most important skill to stay afloat in the industry is to keep evolving, to keep growing. Once you become stagnant your content will reflect that. Every 5-6 months you should step out your comfort zone. Here’s an easy gem I can share; every 6 months change your logo.
One it keeps your fans’ attention and you’re going to attract new fans as well.
What are your goals and ambitions for the future?
One day I want the Dire Desires brand to be huge, like studios in different cities so I can give other people the same chances I had. I’m comfortable monetarily wise but I wouldn’t mind owning another three houses and four more cars, lol.
