ROME —Many have been the times when a politician or political hopeful has made an ass of themselves — but Milly D’Abbraccio may be the first candidate to officially incorporate her ass into her campaign. In fact, D’Abbraccio believes that the public would much rather look at her ass than at yet another politician’s face. “People don’t want to see politicians’ faces anymore,” the former porn princess told Reuters, explaining why the posters she’s plastered throughout the Eternal City feature her soft, round, bare buttocks.

What they do want to see, if candidate D’Abbraccio is correct, is a “cute, clean” red light district called Love City and devoid of prostitution, which would be populated with strip clubs, sex shops, and erotic discothèques – all with easy access to the Vatican.

When Silvio Berlusconi, the incumbent and man most likely to become prime minister – for a third time – insisted that his party had the most attractive women in politics, many called him a chauvinist.

D’Abbraccio, the star of Italian favorites such as The Kiss of the Cobra and Paolina Borghese, Imperial Nymphomaniac, simply thought he was wrong. After all, she is no longer a member of his party.

“He lost the prettiest one,” she insisted, while discussing how she hopes to “reign over Cinecitta” if she earns the votes.

Given that Cinecitta studios is the Italian equivalent of Hollywood, D’Abbraccio’s dreams are ambitious, indeed.

Nonetheless, the 40-something sex performer believes that, like impromptu striptease queen Ilona Staller, aka “Cicciolina,” decades before her, she has the opportunity to take advantage of the populace’s loss of faith in Italian politics. In addition to having an inspiring ass, the woman who calls herself the “derriere of the Socialist party” hopes that fellow Italians, sick of recession and the same batch of familiar political faces, will turn out this Sunday and Monday to vote for her when selecting the next prime minister and various legislators, mayors, and city councilors.

As for experience, D’Abbraccio admits she doesn’t have a lot – at least not in politics; but she did once play “the speaker of the lower house of parliament, who got very hot and then let herself go” in a porn flick. L’Onorevole, to be exact.
