Cybercat Latest ASACP Sponsor

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) announced yesterday that Cybercat Inc. has joined ASACP as a Corporate Sponsor. Cybercat manages banner and text link advertising campaigns on some of the highest traffic websites in the adult industry, including TheHun.com, SleazyDream.com and WorldSex.com.“I have spoken with (Cybercat President/CEO) Mark Gallione at many of the industry trade shows, and he was always very supportive of ASACP and its work,” said Joan Irvine, executive director of ASACP. “But before we can accept somebody as a member, we have to have Best Practices established for their sector, or type of site. When it came to TGP, Mark and Scott (Hjorleifson of SleazyDream.com) were our two best contacts, and we went back and forth with them to establish Best Practices for TGP.”

“Cybercat is proud to be a sponsor of ASACP,” Gallione said. “Their dedication in the battle against child pornography goes hand in hand with the industry’s stringent self-regulatory practice.”

ASACP’s Best Practices for TGP were first published in January, and Irvine stressed the importance of establishing Best Practices for each site type or business sector before accepting such sites into ASACP.

“If we allowed a new member into ASACP without establishing Best Practices for their category, it would cheapen the meaning of membership for our existing members,” Irvine said.

ASACP was established to help the adult site industry make a difference in the battle against child pornography. In addition to its hotline, ASACP provides a self-regulatory vehicle for its members through a Code of Ethics that promotes the protection of children through responsible, professional business practices (see http://www.asacp.org/bestpractices.html).
