YNOT – CommerceGate has signed on to provide billing and payment processing solutions for one of the world’s largest dating site operators. Cupid PLC, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, claims more than 54 million members in 58 countries. The company operates with the mainstream and adult segments of the online dating industry.
A spokesman for Cupid indicated the company is preparing for an expansion into new global markets.
“With a very comprehensive payment processing solution and strong presence both in North America and Europe, CommerceGate was the perfect choice to support Cupid PLC in our global expansion,” said Cupid co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Bill Dobbie. “CommerceGate’s multiple banking relationships worldwide along with their continuous innovation and dedication to service will be of great benefit to us as we continue to grow our business globally.”
Cupid PLC, founded in 2005, is listed on the London Stock Exchange. The company operates sites including Cupid.com, BeNaughty.com, Flirt.com, GirlsDateForFree.com, DatingForParents.com and MatureDatingUK.com. The company offers a white-label program, and its affiliate program is among the highest-paying in the industry: up to $135 per sign-up or up to 90-percent recurring revenue share.
