DUBLIN, Ireland – In a statement released today, the founders of Cube Digital Media’s AI companion platform Soulkyn announced that the platform has “processed over 25 million conversations and generated 14 million images in just 20 months – without calling a single external API.”
In the statement, Cube Digital Media said Soulkyn “has reached production maturity and is preparing for its next phase of growth.”
“The achievement represents a significant milestone in the AI companion space, the company said. “While competing platforms depend entirely on external providers like OpenAI or Anthropic for their AI capabilities, Soulkyn has built and operates its complete technology stack independently. This includes a 70-billion parameter chat model trained in-house using only MIT and Apache 2.0 licensed base models, ensuring no proprietary dependencies that could be revoked.”
“We built Soulkyn to feel alive, not filtered,” said Zog, one of the platform’s two co-founders. “This release makes complex characters, multi-persona worlds, and high-quality media creation accessible in one place.”
“Tools aren’t moral, people are,” said Fyx, Zog’s co-founder and CTO of the company. “We focused on robust architecture and empowering adults to explore their own narratives. Our growth shows that people are ready for a more honest, unfiltered relationship with technology.”
In the statement, the company touted the platform’s “complete technology independence.”
“Soulkyn’s self-hosted infrastructure means the platform cannot be shutdown by third-party policy changes, API deprecations, or external pressure,” the statement noted. “Every AI task – from conversation to image generation to video animation – runs entirely on Soulkyn-owned infrastructure. User data never leaves Soulkyn systems, providing complete data sovereignty.”
The co-founders explained that the platform “combines its chat model with comprehensive media generation capabilities: image generation across anime and photorealistic styles, video animation, and text-to-speech with emotion control.”
“Users can create unlimited AI personas, each with independent memory systems that ensure companions remember past interactions and evolve over time,” the statement added.
Cube Digital emphasized that Soulkyn is “built for lasting relationship.”
“Soulkyn implements persona versioning inspired by software development,” the company said. “Every character edit creates a new version while existing conversations remain bound to specific versions, ensuring relationship continuity even as personas evolve. Long-term memory architecture includes retrieval systems, rolling summaries, and persistent facts storage.”
“People don’t want a chatbot that forgets them,” Fyx said. “They want continuity, nuance, and a bit of chaos. We rebuilt memory and persona control so you can actually tell stories with your characters.”
Cube Digital said the company envisions “AI companions evolving beyond entertainment into daily life integration: immersive storytelling, emotional support from companions who remember and grow, practical assistance through personalized AI, and creative collaboration.” They added that the platform “maintains strict multi-layer content moderation with zero tolerance for illegal content, while achieving a 96.7% “Freedom Score” on its public Censorship & Bias Benchmark.
“With stable technology and a thriving community of 150,000+ personas created by users, the team is positioned to expand and accelerate development toward this vision,” Cube Digital added.
