To mark the 20th anniversary of the platform, Clips4Sale (C4S) has released a report covering 20 years of sales data from the platform, with an eye towards “identifying trends in content and technology, sex and fetishes.”

The “biggest change,” according to C4S is the “sheer diversity of fetishes.”

“The move from large studios toward small, independent creators has had a transformational effect on our articulation of desire,” Tay-Son of C4S noted in a blog post highlighting some of their conclusions from analyzing the data. “Like evolution itself, the availability of a particular fetish for consumption, and creators open to making it, has encouraged variations of that fetish — niches that have grown, attracted followers, become profitable and morphed into new, more complex variants.”

As a specific example, C4S looked at foot fetish, calling it the “fetish that launched Clips4Sale.”

“Feet have always been one of the most popular fetishes, but before the internet, foot fetishes were largely relegated to magazines and photosets,” Tay-Son wrote. “The economics of production and distribution — risky as it was — incentivized producers to shoot images with the most appeal to the widest audience. “With the internet and user-generated content, however, creators and fans have carved out ever more specific niches: foot worship, tickling, trampling, foot fights, sweaty feet, footsie, toe jobs and pedal pumping.

“Forums, DMs, comments, sales analytics all have helped creators meet needs,” Tay-Son added. “Since launch, the number of major fetishes on C4S has grown from 25 to over 1100 today — an increase of more than 4000%! This year alone, we’ve added categories for Spatial Video, Dollification, Shibari, and Wet Dream.”

According to the report, the fetishes that grew over time on the platform include cuckolding, farting, female training, giantess, superheroines and vore. The fetishes that declined in popularity over time, as reflected in sales on the platform, include boot fetish, high heels, cast fetish, smothering, and spitting.

“What will the fetishes of the future be? We don’t know, but we do know that tools like AI and Apple Vision Pro are the primordial soup from which a new generation of kinks, fetishes and sexualities that we haven’t imagined yet,” Tay-Son concluded.
