LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A new film festival, the Cinema Erotica Film Festival, has announced the dates of its debut edition, which is set to take place October 10-12, 2025, in downtown Los Angeles.

Described as a “three-day festival to showcase quality erotic films, industry panels and workshops,” the festival will offer “curated film screenings” that will showcase “diverse works that explore human intimacy and desire through sophisticated cinematic storytelling,” according to the announcement. The event’s panel discussions will feature “acclaimed filmmakers and industry experts on a range of topics,” while the event’s workshops will provide “practical education on cinematography, directing, and storytelling techniques specific to intimate content.”

The Cinema Erotica Film Festival also will feature industry networking events designed to create “opportunities for filmmakers, distributors and industry professionals to connect.” The festival’s awards, meanwhile, will recognize “outstanding achievement in erotic filmmaking” and include a “red-carpet for photo ops.” For those unable to attend in person, the Cinema Erotica Film Festival will offer a live streaming option to enable “global participation.”

“Cinema Erotica is currently accepting submissions from filmmakers worldwide whose work strives for quality, challenges conventions and demonstrates excellence in erotic storytelling across various formats and styles,” the announcement said. “Submission categories include short films & quickies, feature films, documentaries, experimental works, and music videos that thoughtfully engage with erotic themes through an artistic lens.”

According to the announcement, the Cinema Erotica Film Festival “aims to help redefine perceptions of erotic films by showcasing works that blend artistic vision and visuals with meaningful storytelling and explorations of human intimacy and passion.”

“We’re creating a platform for filmmakers who are elevating the erotic genre through their bold creative vision,” the event’s coordinators said in the release announcement. “The festival provides a professional, inclusive environment for celebrating excellence in this evolving genre.”
