Chinese Amusement Park Erects World’s Biggest Penis

CHINA — Texas may claim that everything is bigger there and political pundits may claim that the biggest dick on the planet inhabits the Oval Office, but an amusement park in Changchun city, China, claims to have erected the world’s largest penis. Peaking at an impressive 30-feet and wrapped in more than 6,500 feet of straw, the steel infrastructure that provides the Sky Piller’s rigidity stands proudly atop an altar located on the 1,250 foot high Qinlong Hill within the Longwan Shaman Amusement Park.

The phallic totem is another example of the mixed attitudes about sex that inhabit the ancient nation. According to the president of the park, Cheng Weiguang, the totem belongs to the “Shamanic culture,” which he says originated in his city.

As legend tells it, a Shaman named Ewenki defeated an evil female ruler who did not respect men. Having vanquished the woman, Ewenki presented her with a penis totem as a reminder that the lives of men were worth preserving and respecting. The East Asia Economic and Trade News reports that a penis totem has remained on top of Qinlong Hill ever since.

While some tourists from less genitally honest areas of the globe sometimes find the phallic structure unsettling, Shi Lixue, director of the China Folk Culture Association, feels that it’s entirely appropriate, given the area’s rich heritage. “It symbolizes our ancestors’ pursuit of happiness and prosperity.”

… and who doesn’t want happiness and prosperity… even if it reveals itself at an amusement park?
