Chelsea Poe Releases “Reclaimed: Long Live Queer Porn”
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Dutch American performer, filmmaker, and activist Chelsea Poe has announced the release of what she describes as her “most ambitious work to date” – Reclaimed: Long Live Queer Porn, a feature film that runs over two hours in length and “merges art, labor, and justice,” Poe said. She noted that the release comes as she “continues formal proceedings to regain full control of her catalog and creative legacy.”
“For over a decade, I poured myself into films that shaped who I am as an artist, a performer, and a person,” Poe said. “When my website was shut down and my records withheld, I knew I couldn’t let that be my ending. Over the past year I’ve fought legally, emotionally, and artistically to take my work back. Reclaimed is the result.”
Filmed in California and the Netherlands, Reclaimed features performers from six different countries and “revisits themes and imagery from the projects that defined Poe’s career,” the announcement noted, including Femme 4 Femme, From Holland With Love, Chelsea Submits, Fucking Against Fascism, Fetish Fvckdolls, and The Submissive Mixtape.
Poe called the new release “the most international film I’ve ever made.”
“It proves that queer porn isn’t tied to one company, one city, or one person,” she added. “It will always live somewhere, somehow, and forever.”
Poe further described Reclaimed as “both a celebration and a document of reclamation – of her image, her authorship, and the collective labor of sex workers and queer artists.”
“To everyone who stood with me publicly and privately during this fight – thank you,” Poe said. “To the sex workers who inspired me, the performers who trusted me, and those just starting out, this film is proof that your art and your labor are worth fighting for – whether on camera, in our communities, or in the courtroom.”
Reclaimed: Long Live Queer Porn is available now on Adult Empire and Hotmovies, as well as directly from the filmmaker by emailing chelseapoe616@gmail.com with a donation receipt from the U.N. Refugee Agency or Prostitution Information Center (PIC) Amsterdam.
