VENICE, CA – In the past several years Charlotte Stokely has been one of the most sought-after adult starlets on the other side of the hill in Hollywood and she strikes again in a new Showtime series.
I’m Dying Up Here stars Melissa Leo and Michael Angarano and is currently airing on Showtime. It’s set in 1970s Los Angeles with a focus on the city’s stand-up scene, which legendarily boasted many comics who would go on to become household names: Letterman, Leno, Robin Williams and many more.
Based on former LA Times writer William Knoedelseder’s book of the same name, I’m Dying Up Here (as the PR people put it) “delves into the inspired and damaged psyches that inhabit the hilarious, but complex business of making an audience laugh.” Charlotte, established after so much mainstream experience, didn’t need to audition – she was specifically requested for the role. Jim Carrey was one of the show’s creators.
When there is laughter, sex will follow. Charlotte appears in episode 5. She plays a model who has sex at the model house with celebrities. Charlotte is featured prominently in the opening part of the scene, walking naked through the house. Later she is in bed with a Creative Artists Agency agent, who is screaming about not getting off.
“I was so excited to be on set for Jim Carrey,” Charlotte said. “I kept thinking that throughout the shoot. He’s one of my all-time favorite actors. It’s been cool to see how well it turned out and how much people are enjoying the series. I knew it had aired when suddenly several strangers recognized me from the show. So far everyone has said they loved it!”
