VENICE, CA – Charlotte Stokely isn’t only an American superstar, she’s an international sensation and her most recent appearance abroad came via an interview with the Spanish-language FANculturapop.
Always knowing her audience, Charlotte wows them with an “Hola” that has the interviewer audibly impressed and she doesn’t stop there. The interview was conducted on Sunday, the day after the 2018 AVN Awards, and yet Charlotte sounds healthy and clear-eyed, unlike many Adult Entertainment Expo attendees who head home with colds, hangovers and who knows what else.
FANculturapop didn’t beat around the bush, asking about the AVN Awards, where Charlotte had several noms and two of the movies she starred in last year were up for 25 more: Confessions of a Sinful Nun (Sweetheart Video) had seven nominations and Axel Braun’s Justice League XXX (Wicked Pictures) had 18. Justice League XXX won Best Parody, Best Director – Feature and three other trophies. Charlotte was also a presenter, working with Jenna Haze.
“Justice League XXX won a few awards and that’s amazing because we received the recognition for our work, so that’s an achievement and we did it as a team,” Charlotte told the hosts. “It’s been the #1 movie for two months in a row, so we can’t complain. I love playing Batwoman and we have Batwoman XXX coming up and that’s going to be huge.”
Naturally there is great intrigue around AEE and the AVN Awards and Charlotte was honest, telling them that, yes, there are the orgies and sex on display at parties, but Charlotte abstained, letting them know that many people leave the convention with one illness or another and she wanted to stay healthy.
“I look at the boobies and I have fun from the side,” she said. “It’s a great way to meet the fans and to say thank you and be recognized for your hard work.”
They did go on to discuss Batwoman since this year Axel Braun will be directing Charlotte in the lead of the much-anticipated Batwoman XXX. It’s a character dear to Charlotte’s heart.
“I love Batwoman, she’s a very strong and powerful woman and she’s the first openly gay comic book character, which is very important for acceptance and equality and to show that you can be a woman and be powerful and save people and fight for what’s right,” she said. “She has a very traumatic story, so she’s kind of moody, she has two different lives, during the day she’s Kate Kane and at night she’s Batwoman and even her own girlfriend doesn’t know. It’s very much like me, me at home with friends and then there’s me, ‘Me gusta boobies!’ Charlotte. I really admire her.”
