YNOT – When Holistic Wisdom Inc. ran an article about the adult entertainment industry on its retail sex-toy website, the company did not expect to be inundated with requests for more information about how to become a porn star.

But it was.

As a result, Holistic Wisdom founder and Chief Executive Officer Lisa Lawless PhD created BeInPorn.com, which offers educational and employment resources for those who are serious about finding a job in adult.

BeInPorn.com also helps porn studios by outlining their performer requirements and appropriate contact procedures. This lets potential applicants understand what studios seek and helps filter out inappropriate applications.

According to Lawless, the site received approximately 30,000 unique visitors, both male and female, within its first month on the web.

“With so many people looking for employment these days, it seems that more and more people are considering a career in the adult industry,” Lawless said. “We felt that most of the people who were contacting us really needed an educational resource to better understand the realities of such a choice with specific information on who to contact and how to contact them.”

Lawless said most people who contact Holistic Wisdom about employment in the porn industry are naïve about the reality.

“Our goal is to educate those who want employment opportunities in the adult industry so that they may understand everything they are getting themselves into, from the potential of such a choice causing family conflicts to exploring how they can protect themselves from STDs, scams and how approach adult studios in an appropriate manner,” she said.
