YNOT – Despite some initial skepticism inside the industry, evidently consumers are embracing the “daily deals” concept in adult. Typified in the mainstream by operations like Groupon and AmazonLocal, daily deal services send members alerts about products and services at reduced prices. Merchants partner with the daily deal alert companies, offering discounts and freebies in order to attract new customers.
The system works essentially the same way in the adult market, according to iDealgasm, which launched its adults-only service in May 2011. Consumers opt in to a mailing list that delivers coupons for everything from pay-site memberships to bedroom accessories.
After proving the concept, iDealgasm has launched what it calls a black-label platform allowing partner companies to offer their members a custom-branded daily deals program.
“The black label, originally released in August 2012, is a custom-built, transactional platform offering hardcore savings on some of the internet’s most trafficked adult web sites,” said iDealgasm co-founder Josh Stern. “Host sites benefit by turning customer visits into dollars with absolutely no upfront costs to incur.
“Because we manage the site, our partners don’t have any overhead to set up or maintain,” he continued. “We offer memberships, retail, cams and much more. It’s like a mega-store for porn.”
According to Stern, one of the advantages of the black-label platform is that it houses all of the offers in one, well-organized, easy-to-access area. A featured deal is spotlighted, while a wide variety of other visually represented deals may be browsed below. Host sites have the flexibility to choose the compensation structure that best fits their needs. iDealgasm offers multiple payout methods, including lifetime revenue sharing.
