Bare Necessities Gets Sexy, Launches Lingerie.com

CYBERSPACE – When it comes to selling the clothes that women wear either under their clothes or in the bedroom, there are two sides to the business – one side sells the bras, underwear and sleepwear that women wear everyday, while the other side sells the kind of sexy lingerie that is often reserved for special occasions.Online retailer Bare Necessities is already a leader in the first category, ranking second only to Victoria’s Secret in the 2009 Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Websites. With the launch of an all new and sexy Lingerie.com website to compliment its more practical and less flashy BareNecessities.com site, the company now hopes to own a nice piece of the second category as well.

“Lingerie.com will offer risqué and sexy lingerie such as babydolls, bustiers, teddies, garters, costumes and more, from brands such as Leg Avenue, Shirley of Hollywood, Dreamgirl and Escante,” said the company through a recent press release. “Lingerie.com will also feature sexy plus size lingerie and more provocative fabrications such as leather, lace, vinyl and sheer fabrics.”

The Lingerie.com site’s navigation is relatively simple, focusing on sexy lingerie first and foremost, but also featuring erotic costumes and plus size selections. Sales points include a 30-day return policy, discreet packaging and flat rate shipping. The site is packed with high-end pictures of attractive lingerie models showing off the various offerings and leaving little to the imagination.

“We are very excited to be able to reach a new online customer,” said David Wauters, Director of Marketing for Bare Necessities. “We know that there is significant online demand for sexier lingerie styles and silhouettes than we offer on BareNecessities.com, so this new Internet store will enable us to satisfy that customer.”
