YNOT – Gay adult website Bait Buddies has released the first segment of a four-part documentary about two straight, lifelong friends who found a haven from the jobless economy in gay porn.
Sandbox Buddies, lensed by Caruso, follows the progression of Michael Keys and Evan Mercy as the young men move from the job-starved environment of their native Kentucky to South Florida, where work for so-called “gay-for-pay” performers is plentiful.
“They are truly best friends since childhood — in their words, ‘best friends since the sandbox,” producer-director Caruso said. “These two are characters for sure, and their banter with each other is at times very funny. They are both straight, but they were very willing to explore with each other as long as they could make a lot of money in a short time.”
Mercy and Keys, both 21, said they have been best friends since the age of 10. As kids they were always together; Mercy even lived with Keys and his family for a while.
Keys migrated to Florida first, he said, finding a job as a male stripper in a gay club right away. Mercy followed about a month later, but being “too shy to dance” limited his employment options. The solution to his dilemma presented itself in the form of a Bait Buddies ad seeking models. Unaware that Bait Buddies is a gay website, Keys and Mercy answered the ad together, expecting to be paired with “some hot girls.”
Sexually adventurous and in need of fast cash, not even the revelation that Bait Buddies is notorious for “making straight guys do gay things” scared them away. Both men admitted enjoying the same woman at the same time in the past, so it seemed like only a baby step from there to a mutual jack-off session. The cameras continued to roll as the guys progressed to man-to-man oral sex, toys and finally penetration.
Keys and Mercy explained their decision to “go all the way” with gay sex on film by saying they figured the experience would be better if they went through it together rather than each of them experimenting with a stranger.
They said the confine their homosexual escapades to the studio; however, they also admitted they might play with each other in real life if a female partner requested it.
