BaDoink Studios, the adult virtual reality creator, has taken a leaf out of Hollywood’s book and begun shooting VR porn scenes that utilize 100% CGI environments. Under the BaDoink Studios umbrella, VRCosplayX completed its first CGI-based production in February of 2023 – “Bayonetta, A XXX Parody.”
The scene stars 8-year industry veteran, Alex Coal. Coal, portraying the pistol-wielding Umbra Witch, Bayonetta, takes on the strength of the Alphaverse, but not before a steamy encounter in an entirely CGI apocalyptic city setting. Though she has shot for VRCosplayX before, she’s never done it in front of a green screen.
“I had a great time shooting in front of the green screen, I felt like it allowed my imagination to take over! My viewers have been asking me to cosplay Bayonetta for so long! When I saw that she was the character I’d be playing it made me even more excited for the scene,” said Coal. “I hope I did her justice.”
“Bayonetta, A XXX Parody” was released March 16th, 2023, and is available to stream or download to all VRCosplayX members. Bayonetta 3, the original version, was released on the Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2022. Bayonetta 3 won the Best Action Game Award in the 2022 Game Awards.
VRCosplayX has been releasing a weekly VR cosplay production since its inception in late 2016. The studio is now looking to expand its playbook by shooting select scenes in front of a green screen and recreating the environment using 3D software.
Content Director, Lucas Elliot creates each 3D environment in-house and says, “Shooting with 3D in mind can be very challenging. Lighting is of paramount importance when shooting these scenes. If there are too many shadows, the chroma key process becomes next to impossible. That being said, we’re happy to rise to the challenge and our early results are very promising.”
