LAS VEGAS, NV – Tickets have are now on sale for the 24th Annual AVN Awards Show, which will take place Saturday, January 13th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will hosted by three-time AVN award-winner Jessica Drake and comedian Jim Norton, of Lucky Louie and Tough Crowd fame.Tickets are now available to the general public through the Mandalay Bay Events Center box office, Ticketmaster locations, and both www.mandalaybay.com and www.ticketmaster.com. According to a press release issued by AVN late last week, tickets for the event range in price from $107 – $240.

“We are thrilled to open up the AVN Awards Show to the general public. Every year, the consumer demand for tickets has grown, and now that we’ve partnered with the Mandalay Bay Events Center, we have more available seats to sell,” AVN President Paul Fishbein said in the release. “Our loyal fans have always supported our event with letters, red carpet attendance, and online visits to our site.”

The first AVN Awards show was held in 1983 and over the years has developed into what AVN likes to describe as the “Oscars of Adult” – the glitziest and most extravagant celebration of adult entertainment going. This year’s event will bestow awards in more than 100 categories, getting as specific as “best performance” of a range of sex acts.

Fishbein says the location of the 2007 awards is a sign of the adult industry’s increasing acceptance as legitimate entertainment.

“The move to the Mandalay Bay Events Center is an important one, as it signals the evolution of the adult entertainment industry into mainstream,” Fishbein said in the release. “We’re more excited about this year’s event than ever before. Jessica Drake and Jim Norton will be great hosts. They’re both consummate professionals who have awesome stage presence.”
