LOS ANGELES, CA — It wasn’t long ago that alleged ex-call girl and arguably underage Girls Gone Wild breast flashing amateur, Ashley Dupre, was adamant about wanting Joe Francis to fork over $10 million and a promise not to pimp her footage or her image. Now she just wants to “eliminate all negativity from her life and focus on the positive.”Meaning: she’s dropped her suit against Francis.
Dupre’s attorney, Richard C. Wolfe, broke the news to the world in a statement quoted by People magazine, adding that the attractive young woman “has prospects for many exciting new projects and is looking forward to starting a new chapter.”
It’s been a busy spring and early summer for Dupre, whose professional association, under the name of “Kristen,” with now-former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer/then-sex worker “Client 9” brought the politico to his career knees. Soon after the Spitzer scandal hit, footage of an even more youthful Dupre were found within the Girls Gone Wild archives, with Francis promising to make them public. Dupre responded to the new controversy by pointing out that she was 17 when she flashed her titties for the camera – making her too young to sign a legal contract and too young for Francis to legally include in his video series.
Francis prophesied on Access Hollywood that Dupre and her lawsuit would be a “no show.” According to Francis, a scheduled deposition had been cancelled and “Her lawyer says that she is dropping it and issuing an apology to me.”
In addition to stating that she was underage at the time of the Girls Gone Wild shooting, Dupre has claimed that she was intoxicated and pressured into signing a video release form.
This isn’t the end of courtroom drama for Francis, whose latest woes have included allegations that he filmed a 16-year-old girl during a March 2002 Panama City Beach production – and placed her image on the DVD cover. Francis contends that he was not in area during the time the girl insists he accompanied a cameraman to capture her bawdy antics. Instead, he has provided evidence supporting his claim to have celebrated his birthday at Lake Tahoe, CA on that day. The girl originally claimed the breast flashing event took place in March 2003, but has since said that it was actually a year earlier. Francis had previously claimed to have been in Panama City in March of 2002.
Whether Francis plans to release what Francis calls “hours of footage of Dupre including her in some very interesting sexual situations” is still uncertain, although a Girls Gone Wild representative insists it could be released within the month.
