BALTIMORE, Md. – Anne Bryne, Founder and Co-Owner of The Dungeon Store, recently sat down with Sexual Health Magazine to discuss erotic EMS/TENS units and violet wands, as part a feature called “Tingles and Thrills,” covering e-stim use for the summer edition of the publication.
Bryne, who has over 20 years of experience with violet wands and other e-stim pleasure products, was one of several sexual health experts quoted in the article.
In her interview, Bryne referred to violet wands as “’the showman of the e-stim world,” as they are the most visually exciting of e-stim devices.
“Moving the electrode close to the skin creates the ‘spark’ that will jump from the electrode to the skin, creating anything from a quick jab to a bubbly tingling sensation,” Bryne explained.

EMS/TENS units operate differently from violet wands, “penetrating deep under the skin to invoke a muscle response.” They’re also used differently for safety reasons, Bryne explained.
“Essentially, you are using the unit to contract and relax various muscles,” Bryne said of TENS units. “This means you’re controlling, stimulating, and arousing these areas with the turn of a knob.”
