BREMEN, GERMANY — The race to deliver live adult content to the mighty Apple iPhone is on, and another player has entered the field. A new site called XGoes.mobi now offers live cam action on iPhones.Launched by German company Displayboy GmbH, XGoes.mobi only works on iPhones, which is frustrating for potential affiliates who want to see the product they’re attempting to evaluate. Initial reviews of the site are mixed.
XGoes.mobi is powered by a Carmunity.com’s browser-based application that streams live feeds and offers interactive functionality. Carmunity calls the app iMstream, and hopes to dominate the mobile space with it.
Laudably, users don’t have to download or install anything in order to run iMstream. They simply dial up the application in their iPhone’s browser and begin chatting away with a live model while previewing pictures of other models. XGoes.mobi offers a bookmarking function to keep track of favorites. Multiple billing solutions are supported.
Fleshbot’s resident tech-guru-horndogs were decidedly on the fence in their evaluation of the product.
“In spite of all the bells and whistles of being an iPhone-only site, the actual cam pages of Xgoes.mobi are, well, just ordinary, basic cam pages,” Lux Alptraum wrote at Fleshbot.com. “The live stream is a small, silent box depicting a small girl disrobing; below the cam is a chat box that allows you to communicate with your tiny new friend.
“There’s a certain thrill in knowing that you have the ability to access this site at any time and anywhere, but ultimately, the amount of satisfaction you get from it comes down to one question: How erotic do you find the idea of a silent, postage stamp-sized girl disrobing on your iPhone?”
XGoes.mobi is undeterred by such faint praise. The parent company is banking on recent reports indicating adult content is poised to “explode” in South America to help it make a virtual killing.
An analysis of the markets by mobile consultancy Signal Telecom posited the adult mobile content industry will be worth $1.12 billion by 2013. Most of the growth is expected to occur in Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela. Signal Telecom’s analysts said Brazil’s robust adult industry will play a leading role in the uptake of mobile distribution.
“Brazil is the most advanced market,” according to the report. “[It] has a large offering by both operators and integrators, backed by a robust local adult industry. Although Colombia and Venezuela do not have such a strong local adult industry, they do offer a wide-ranging offering of image downloads that include complete nudity.”
