LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Homegrown Video, known for its amateur heterosexual content, has assumed marketing and management responsibilities for the gay emo website Alternadudes.com. The relationship represents Homegrown’s first foray into the gay adult entertainment space.
Alternadudes specializes in amateur material featuring pierced and painted, long-haired, primarily young, men. The site has gained a reputation for initiating both avowedly gay and bi-curious males.
“Alternadudes is impressive … quite the fascinating and horny site of alternative gay pop culture,” according to RatedMale.com.
Mr Pinks noted “Alternadudes could be your favorite site in the history of the internet; your very own gay-as-gay-can-be Suicide Boys.”
For Homegrown Video, venturing into the gay side of the industry has been a long time coming.
“Homegrown has had opportunities to feature gay product in the past — like the U.S. Marine masturbation videos from San Diego — but things always fell through, because at the end of the day we were simply regarded as being too hetero,” admitted Homegrown Video President Farrell Timlake.
Like Timlake, Alternadudes’ Koloff has performed in his company’s adult videos. The performer experience adds a different perspective to product creation, he said. The common ground is one of the things that convinced him a partnership with Homegrown could benefit both companies.
“It’s what I really like about Homegrown,” Koloff said. “They’re not just another company trying to shove crappy porn onto the public. They actually, sincerely, embrace the lifestyle to put a positive spin on adult sexuality, free of judgment and prejudice.”
The companies already have incorporated Alternadudes.com into the Homegrown Cash affiliate program, which pays a 50-percent recurring revenue share.
