“The Inheritance” revolves around Alex’s husband Tyler Nixon, who’s bitter that his grandfather, who owned half of Chicago, left it all to his stepsister, Brianne Blu. Brianne is coming to visit, and Alex wants her stay to be a pleasant one—she’s changed the linens in the guest room and has asked Tyler to be polite and stop blaming Brianne for his grandfather cutting him off.
