YNOT – Mobile advertising network Adultmoda has launched what it believes to be the world’s first adult ad units for applications designed to run on Google’s Android operating system. To celebrate, Adultmoda will pay all new developer affiliates 100-percent commissions during their first 30 days as publishers in the system. The 100-percent payout offer will be available until the end of February.Where appropriate, Adultmoda’s ad units also will be available to iPhone app developers, a spokesman said.
The company also launched a free mobile landing page tool for adult webmasters. The tool creates branded landing pages that feature Adultmoda ads designed to help webmasters monetize their mobile traffic. Webmasters receive 65 percent payouts for every productive click on the landing pages. According to Adultmoda Chief Executive Officer Terry Jackson, server logs indicate 25 percent of surfers who visit a landing page click an ad.
“Clearly the opportunity to generate revenue from this is huge,” he said. “This is all part of our strategy to provide adult webmasters with as many free tools as we can to help them with the launch of their mobile services. There is finally a significant opportunity for adult webmasters to make money from mobile and we are here to help.”
Jackson opined a common challenge for webmasters at the moment is how to monetize all the mobile traffic they see.
“If the webmaster has a mobile site, it is rare that they are making money from all the traffic their mobile site receives,” he said. “For example, their site may be aimed at smart phones only, such as iPhones, so non-smart phone traffic is wasted. At the same time, webmasters who do not yet have a mobile presence are noticing that an increasing number of mobile users are trying to access their websites.
“Now there is a solution: The webmaster simply directs the traffic they are not monetizing to a landing page full of ads from Adultmoda,” Jackson added. “The landing page tool can be used in a number of ways depending on whether the webmaster has a mobile service or not.”
Adultmoda’s mobile ads network provides another route to profitability. Because it is open-source, lightweight, extensible and reasonably stable, Google’s Android OS is gaining ground on both Apple Inc.’s and Microsoft’s mobile operating systems. Verizon Wireless’ new Android-based Droid cell phone debuted to a surprisingly enthusiastic marketplace and increasingly has been hailed as the closest thing yet to an “iPhone killer.” That’s why Adultmoda is so excited about it’s Android ad units for adult products.
“There already have been a number of adult Android apps launched, and Adultmoda will be partnering with companies such as MiKandi who have launched adult app stores for Android Apps,” Jackson said. “Adult apps now have a great way to make money from advertising, and adult companies can also drive traffic to their apps by running [pay-per-click] campaigns.”
