Montreal, QC – Adult Time is celebrating the release of its coming-out-while-coming-of-age drama, Teenage Lesbian, with a free week of unlimited viewing on the platform starting today, September 19th, through the 25th.
Set in the ‘90s and based on real-life events, writer/director Bree Mills brings the sullen angst of eighteen to life in Kristen Scott, who plays high school senior Sam — a beautifully awkward high school senior who’s coming to terms with her sexuality.
“I just want to understand… how do you know that you’re gay?” implores a young man at a high school party (Robby Echo). He’s confused about her sexuality, but Sam is not. “How do you know that you’re straight?” Sam fires back.
“I’m so proud of this film! Watching Kristen re-live the days of teenage struggle and identity issues makes me cringe, but it also makes me happy that we have come so far in accepting ourselves — and others — for who we are,” said Mills, Adult Time’s Chief Creative Officer.
“Kristen did an amazing portrayal of Sam, a kid who’s not a kid anymore, struggling with her sexuality and self-discovery while on the tentative cusp of adulthood. She brought a full range of emotions to every scene and is such an incredible actress,” Mills added.
