PATTAYA, Thailand – Blair Hopkins of the sex worker advocacy group SWOP Behind Bars is this week’s guest on the Adult Site Broker Talk podcast, show host Bruce the adult site broker announced today.
SWOP Behind Bars is a non-profit service organization that promotes the human rights of sex workers, providing harm reduction services and prison outreach. The organization makes its services available to all those who work in the sex trade, both current and former sex workers, through their Sex Worker Community Support line. SWOP Behind Bars works with sex workers and victims of human trafficking who have also been incarcerated, as well as those seeking peer support, resource referrals, and crisis care.
Hopkins got her start in the adult industry as a photographer and videographer in the early 2000s. She is the author of All in A Day’s (Sex) Work, a book described as “a photographic investigation into the daily lives of the intriguing, oft-maligned and dedicated professionals who occupy our fantasies and indulge our deepest erotic urges.”
Hopkins joined SWOP Behind Bars in 2018 and now serves as Executive Director. She lives in New Orleans.
SWOP Behind Bars works to assure incarcerated members of the sex work community know about the organization’s support line, opening a line of communication to assist imprisoned sex workers to facilitate post-release support and services. People also find the support organization through online searches, service provider referrals, word of mouth and through the adult platforms on which SWOP Behind Bars advertises the hotline.
