CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Despite the outside world’s general lack of a clue about the humanity of those who work in the adult entertainment industry, those on the inside are well aware the business of sex doesn’t define the very human people on set, on stage or in a cam model’s online boudoir. Each denizen of a space the outside world sometimes views as a cesspool of vice and perversion has a name, a face, friends, family, hobbies, hopes, dreams…
And lots of heart. Charitable efforts consume more time and energy within the industry than outsiders might imagine. From toy runs at Christmas to food drives for the hungry and fundraisers for those among their own who face health challenges, adult industry insiders always find time, energy and money to help those in need.
On July 29, that charitable spirit will be on display at the eighth annual Vice is Nice fundraising party to benefit The Animal Rescue Alliance Farm and Sanctuary. TARA is a 501(c)3 no-kill rescue facility in Chatsworth, Calif. The four-acre operation offers a cage-free haven to abused and abandoned dogs, cats and farm animals, including goats, horses, donkeys, geese and even parrots. In addition, TARA provides financial support to underfunded local rescue organizations.
Organized by Kelly Holland, an avid animal lover and Penthouse Entertainment’s chief executive officer, 2017’s casino-themed Vice is Nice will include a poker tournament and casino games, music, dancing and hourly prize raffles. All money raised will be donated to TARA.
