YNOT – Apparently, children aren’t the only ones who know the importance of a good toy. According to Adam & Eve’s “Great American Sex Survey,” 82 percent of adults enjoy toys, too.The North Carolina-based adult products retailer discovered that either alone or with a partner, adult toy use is widely accepted and on the upswing. In fact, an additional 3.2 percent of respondents said they intend to use adult products in the future.
Interestingly, nearly all the respondents (94 percent) indicated they felt adult products can be a part of a healthy relationship.
Among respondents’ favorite adult products were toys (87 percent) and personal lubricants (79 percent). After these, the next most selected products were adult videos (72 percent), sexy lingerie (66 percent) and massage oils (64 percent).
“Adding toys to a couple’s bedroom repertoire can improve communication and overall satisfaction with sex,” said sex and relationship expert Dr. Kat Scarbo, a clinical sexologist with a doctorate in human sexuality who recently signed on as the company’s resident sexpert. “I suggest toys and adult videos to clients to give them permission to explore what works for them in the bedroom. Overwhelmingly, nearly all my clients have reported that incorporating these items has lead to healthier, happier relationships.”

The web-based survey of more than 1,000 Americans aged 18 and older was conducted by an independent third-party survey company and sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.
