Acacia to Release Third Quarter Financial Results and Host Conference Call October 20th

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – Acacia Research Corporation has announced that it will release its third quarter financial results on Thursday, October 20th, and conduct a conference call for shareholders on the same day. While there has been little news of late concerning the ongoing litigation between Acacia and the Joint Defense Group that includes over a dozen adult industry defendants, Acacia continues to be very active in both licensing and litigating their patents.

In recent weeks, Acacia has announced licensing deals with CVS Pharmacy, AMD, Samsung and Matsushita Electric, as well as receiving a contract from the US Air Force for “mircroarray pathogen detection.” In April, Acacia added Time Warner Cable, Cablevision Systems Corp., Insight Communications Co., Cebridge Connections and Bresnan Communications to its “DMT®” patent infringement litigation. In the same month, Acacia filed a lawsuit against Intel and Texas Instruments, alleging infringements of patents unrelated to DMT®.

In August, Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon, a publicly traded chain with over 200 restaurants located across the country, filed suit against Acacia, claiming that Acacia was attempting to enforce an overly-broad patent claim, and doing so in bad faith.

Acacia’s upcoming conference call will be webcast on the company’s website, acaciaresearch.com, and will be available for listeners to hear over the phone via a toll-free number, as well. According to Acacia’s press release, The Acacia Technologies Group presentation and Q&A will start at 1:15 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (4:15 p.m. Eastern), followed by the CombiMatrix Group presentation at 2:00 p.m. Pacific/5 p.m. Eastern.
