LAS VEGAS – A newly launched adult aggregation site hopes to show the world a new way to look at social media.
Developed by the folks behind PornStarTweet, Star.xxx entered public beta-testing this week. According to the parent company’s founder, the new site offers a more visual interface as well as integration with Twitter and InstaGram. Coupled with material gleaned from the 6,000 Twitter accounts and 1 million tweets its sister site aggregates daily, Star.xxx uses a proprietary algorithm to offer trending topics in real time.
“Star.xxx is an all brand new, from the ground up conception of how to look at social media,” said Pete Housley, chief executive officer of Naughty Tweet, the parent company of both PornStarTweet and Star.xxx. “Traditionally, social media has been thought of as linear. [For example,] PornStarTweet will show you Ash Hollywood’s every tweet in order but not really offer any context to those tweets.”
On the other hand, he added, “While Star.xxx will continue to present a linear timeline, it also will showcase what Ash Hollywood tweets about most, offering for the first time true value for search engines—with a much more robust visual user interface.”
Housley said in addition to aggregating social media bits, Star.xxx also spiders the web for relevant content about each included performer: movie trailers, galleries, and news and gossip pieces from both adult and mainstream media.
And, of course, the property is not without monetization methods.
“Star.xxx represents new thinking in how we present this data to consumers, but we also wanted to expand upon our abilities to carry in-stream advertising for our clients,” said Director of Business Development Denise Kraft. “We’ve really considered how consumers will use the platform and have some very unique offerings for advertisers in each one of our niches, from traditional site-wide clickable backgrounds all the way down to deep individual profile keyword placement links.
