YNOT – Evidently Homegrown Video’s recent acquisition of Shane’s World will have no noticeable impact on the latter’s unrepentant love for controversy. Late last week, Shane’s World announced a new tour that will take the adult studio back onto college campuses nationwide, this time with sex toys in tow.
Only days after announcing the acquisition, Shane’s World served advance notice that it would commence a Sex Toys for College Students Tour Feb. 7-8 at Chico State University in California. Sponsored by California Exotic Novelties, the company that manufacturers the Shane’s World Toys collection, the tour hopes to spread awareness about sexual health and safety while also having a whole lot of fun, according to a spokesperson. Porn stars and giveaways will be part of the events.
“We are extremely fortunate to have CalExotics in our corner,” said Shane’s World Chief Executive Officer Brian Grant. “They are recognized as one of the top companies for adult novelties and have been behind us 100 percent. They are not only our manufacturer, but [also] our biggest cheerleaders on this and other projects.
“We are so excited about giving away sex toys to those who need them most — college students,” he added. “We are lucky to have great brand awareness in the college market, and we plan on increasing that awareness with this tour.”
Several performers already have agreed to participate, Grant said. The performers are expected to give away more than 1,500 products during the first few stops on the tour.
