You may know her as the popular anchor for Naked News with the great body and sense of humor, but Marina Valmont is more than that.
A woman who is just as fierce behind the scenes as in front of the camera, Marina possesses a ton of juggling skills which help keep the show running smooth. In her words she’s like a “Circus Conductor” and that’s not too much of an exaggeration. This beauty with brains not only writes and produces her segments, but she also coordinates many other moving pieces in order to bring viewers the fun they’ve come to expect from the show.
This week, Marina takes a breather from her busy schedule to talk with YNOT about how she got involved with Naked News, what it’s like working for the company and give us more insight into her successful career.
How did you get started at Naked News?
I got my start in modeling by entering a bikini contest at a local bar. Growing up I was quiet and introverted but I had the desire to explore and be more. I dared myself to enter the contest and I did it! I didn’t win… but that bikini contest led to many opportunities, bikini pageants, promo modeling and car shows.
From there I met the producer of Naked News at a car show and was asked to audition. I didn’t do nude modeling at the time, not even topless so I declined. A few years later I met Eila Adams, Naked News’ fitness expert through promo modeling in Toronto and she asked me to audition. At that point I only did topless not full nude, so I still declined the audition.
After more time had passed the opportunity crept back into my mind and I auditioned. I was full of nervous excitement! Shortly afterwards I came on as a guest anchor and the fan feedback was positive, so I was made a full anchor and the rest is history.
What do you enjoy most about reporting news and what has helped you be a good reporter?
I love keeping people informed and listening has helped me be a good reporter. By listening, I am able to ask thoughtful questions which provides context/backstory to situations.
Have you always loved being naked? Was there ever a moment of shyness?
Even though my career didn’t start out that way I love being naked and am a nudist now because of it. I’ve never been shy or modest with my body.
What’s the writing/producing experience on the show like for you?
Producing involves a multitude of tasks: finding a camera person, their accommodations, their flight, writing my segments, arranging interviews and coordinating it with my appearance schedule to create a shooting schedule. I feel like a circus conductor.
I love going to fun events like adult expos, comic cons and traveling. As an influencer I get invited to these events, so I bring Naked News along with me. I’ve travelled to and produced Naked News episodes in Amsterdam, Chicago, Miami, Jamaica, NYC, Las Vegas etc. Language barriers can make communication a little rough, but I work it out. That’s what a Producer is, they create results and get the job done.
How do you decide what shows to produce?
I’m interested in producing segments that are different.
I follow the news, especially the local news so when something interesting crosses my path I reach out and set something up. Like when Slut Whisperer was in Toronto I reached out and we set up an interview. There was a Pedal Pub and me and three anchors did a topless tour and hosted the show on it. My most out of the box idea was covering a strip club that had set up an outdoor mini putt in their parking lot. It was during the pandemic when establishments could only be open if they had an outdoor patio. It was such a fun day.
What goals do you have for 2023 with your career?
I have so many goals, but my top priority is growing my social media following. I love IG reels, TikTok and live streaming. I especially enjoy live streaming on TikTok. My audience is so engaging and fun. I do it multiple times a week so keep notifications turned on and come say “hi.”
